Gabapentin is an anti-epileptic drug developed by Warner-Lanbert. It was first marketed in the UK in 1993. Gabapentin is a novel antiepileptic drug, which is a derivative of γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA). Its pharmacological action is different from that of existing antiepileptic drugs. Recent studies have shown that the action of Gabapentin is produced by changing GABA metabolism.1 .
